The Community Human Services Partnership will be accepting applications for a Community-Based Violence Intervention Grant. In 1997, the City and County collaborated to form the Community Human Service Partnership (CHSP), which was granted a Best Practice award by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The purpose of CHSP is to provide a more efficient and effective method for allocating human services grant funds. This initiative, which requires greater coordination and cooperation between funding partners and agencies, affords easy recognition of duplication and gaps in service delivery and provides the ability to target funds accordingly.

The purpose of the Community-Based Violence Intervention Grant is to involve those communities most affected by gun violence to collaborate to implement programs and services to increase community safety, respond to gun violence and address the root causes of gun violence. This is a competitive solicitation open to 501c3 non-profit organizations providing direct human services. Applicants must target services to those most at risk of being a victim of or committing an act of gun violence, demonstrate collaboration with key stakeholders, and commit to the implementation of promising practices that have been shown to be effective in reducing gun violence.

Applications will only be accepted from agencies that meet the CHSP eligibility criteria and program requirements. The CHSP grant eligibility criteria can be found in the full Request for Proposals listed below.

The grant application will open on August 2, 2023, at 9 a.m. EST and close on August 25, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. EST. The application can be found during that time at https://portal.neighborlysoftware.com/tallahassee/participant.

The Citizen Review Team (CRT) volunteers will meet for funding deliberations on September 12 from 1-4pm at 435 N Macomb Street, 2nd Floor conference room.

Notice of the Fiscal Year 2024 Bridge Program Funding

The City of Tallahassee (City) invites all interested non-profit human services organizations to participate in the Fiscal Year 2024 funding cycle of the Bridge Program grant process. Through this program, the City provides funding to eligible organizations to help provide safety net services to vulnerable citizens.

The Bridge Program supports local organizations proposing to implement innovative solutions to community needs but lacking the eligibility requirements to participate in the Community Human Service Partnership (CHSP) grant process. The Bridge Program is a funding opportunity that enables non-profit agencies that do not meet the minimum CHSP standards to strengthen capacity. Agencies that have previously received or are currently receiving CHSP funding are not eligible for the Bridge Program.

Applications will only be accepted from agencies that meet the Bridge Program eligibility criteria, as listed below:

• At the time of application submission, the agency is registered as a 501(c)(3) with the United States Department of Treasury.
  • Please note that Fiscal Agents are not accepted. The applying agency must have its own 501(c)(3) status.
• The agency must demonstrate a record of providing or intent to provide direct human services to residents of Leon County.
• The agency has not received CHSP funding.

Human Services staff will host an informational workshop on Friday, July 14, from 9-10 a.m. at the City of Tallahassee Logistics Facility, 2602 Jackson Bluff Road. Attendance is not required to receive Bridge Program funding but is recommended.

Applications must be completed and submitted online in the City's Neighborly Software Portal. The portal will open July 1 and close at 5 p.m. on July 31. No late applications will be accepted.
